Acupuncture

“Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through the skin at strategic points on the body. It is commonly used to treat pain and to promote overall wellness.”

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Qi (vital energy) flows through pathways called meridians in the human body. These meridians and energy flows are accessible through 361 acupuncture points (acupoints).

Acupuncture involves inserting extremely fine needles into the skin at specific acupoints. This may relieve pain by stimulating the release of endorphins — the body’s natural painkillers — and by influencing areas of the brain that regulate serotonin, a chemical involved in mood. The goal is to restore balance to Yin–Yang and the flow of Qi throughout the body.
